Closet Organizers at Lowes
Before you reorganize your closet you have to clean it out to its bare bones. The best way
to do that is to get two trash bags and a large box. Start by taking the hanging clothes out of the closet and
place them into three piles. One pile of clothes to keep, the second pile for clothes to be donated (either too
large or too small but in good condition), the third pile is for clothes that are not repairable or wearable
(trash). Place the trash into a plastic container and dispose of it. Place the clothes to be donated
into the box neatly folded. The remaining bag will be used to cover the
clothes you are going to keep. Make a small hole in the top of the bag and slip it over the clothes and set
aside. Go on to the shoes and other items in the same way.
Your closet should now be totally empty and you can either paint or wallpaper it. Clean your floor or carpeting
and measure the room. Draw a plan of how you want to arrange the new closet and go to Lowes.
At Lowes you will find closet organizers that are either laminate or wire. You can buy a kit with everything you
will need in it for a 4x8” closet or you can use the floor plan you created to buy the kind of organizers you want.
If you are not sure of how to go about buying what you want to have I your new closet then ask one of Lowes
consultants for help.
There are many organizers available: bars for hanging clothes, vertical organizers with shelves and drawers,
shelving for above the rods, tie racks, shoe containers, purse containers, etc. All in your choice of either
laminate or wire. The laminate is strong and gives the closet a more elegant look. The wire gives the closet a
lighter airier look.
You have now cleaned the closet of all unwanted items, made a sketch of your closet and what you want in the way
of organizers, you have either painted or wallpapered the closet and cleaned the floor or carpeting. You have gone
to Lowes and with the help of an associate or consultant you have purchased what you need and it is time to
install. If you are having a problem installing than go to www.Lowes.com/videos where you will get help in installing your new closet.
Installation is not difficult and it does not require a degree in carpentry or mathematical engineering. All you
need is a screwdriver, a little patience and you computer as a last result.
When you have completed the installation, return the clothing and accessories to their new places, Dispose of
the trash bag and take the things you decided to donate to a charitable resale shop. When this has all been done
take another look at your new closet and enjoy how great it looks and how convenient everything is.
